I was there on Sunday 11/19 for over an hour and not ONE salesman asked if they could help me. All of the salesman were black helping black customers and obviously I'm not not black......But thanks for not helping me because I got a smoking hot deal on Ashley brand furniture at JCPenneys which is 100% better than anything that they carry and get this, Big Lots carries the VERY SAME FURNITURE!!! Big Lots was just a little cheaper.....Again, Thanks again for doing me the favor by not helping me!!
We ordered the Ricardo sectional. It arrived a couple days later as expected. I picked it up myself due to the poor reviews related to delivery. Everyone was friendly and helpful. No problems there. After a few of weeks using the sectional I will say that it’s held up well with no defects on delivery. The cushions are quite soft and could be firmer. I’m 185lbs and the cushions go down about 2” compared to the one next to it. I’m noticing some stretching of the vinyl on the cushions that are sat on the most. It is a “budget” sectional so I’m not expecting perfection but if you’re a larger person I think you’ll be disappointed with this sectional. Also, the corner kind of swallows up your back. My dog has jumped on it several times without any noticeable scratches on the vinyl.
My wife and I bought the sectional in November 2016. The back of the sectional did not line up together and the board on the back was falling apart when they delivered it. It was awkward to have in the living room. We let Kimberly (at Grand Rapids store) in customer service know, she had a guy come look at the sectional (took 3 weeks). He said they would bring us a new one. Then Kimberly went silent. Took seven months for her to finally address the issue. By this time I don't want to give Value City Furniture my money. I asked for a full refund. Kimberly says I have to keep the sectional because It's been about eight months (nevermind I purchased the full warranty!). So I drive to Grand Rapid from Lansing to see the manager he apologizes for Kimberly, agrees to pick up the sectional, for a gift card to Value Furniture...It took them a mouth to pick up the sectional. I have never been so disrespected by a customer service representative. You should shop elsewhere.
Yesterday I went to Value City to buy a new bed and couch for our first home. We worked with Will and he was wonderful! He was patient and accomodating with our requests and made sure we left with everything we were looking for all while staying within our budget. If something we were looking for was out of stock or discontinued Will overcame the objective and found us furniture we would love just as much if not more. My husband and I are very happy with out shopping experience at Value City and will continue to buy our furniture there in the future!!
I just got my couch a few minutes ago. It looks beautiful in my apartment, and so far I'm very pleased. The sales agent (Karen) was knowledgeable, professional and was not pushy. The price was fantastic, I looked in 4 other stores and Value City had the best prices. Along with the couch I got the Pure Promise furniture protection plan, I hope I don't need it but it seemed like a worthwhile thing to have in case it gets damaged. I also want to give kudos the the Value City delivery people - they did a great job carrying my couch up 3 floors to my apartment. The couch BARELY made the turns up the staircase but they managed to get it up and into my apartment without issues - not an easy feat considering the couch is larger than most apartment size couches.
