I don't know why I keep going back for more... punishment. The last two times I've been to Lowe's have been failures. A few weeks ago, a forklift driver crashed his forklift into the back of my truck, putting a big dent in the top of my tailgate. Today, I went to buy an electric tool that I didn't know much about. No one was there to help. I wasted an hour pickup up pneumatic and electric tools that might have been what I needed. I didn't get an answer, obviously, so I left my cart with about $260 worth of merchandise on the floor, took my two young sons, and left.
I measured my 3 blinds exactly but when I got them home 2 were too wide. Took them back and stood waiting for a full 5 minutes while the staffer worked on the computer. I finally asked if there was anyone available to help me. She suddenly came to life but it was obvious that she had no idea what to do, how to ask for help or how to relate to customers. The woman who originally cut the shades eventually came over. She said the machine doesn’t always calibrate correctly. what??! . It took some doing but she finally got it close enough. Was not impressed that it couldn’t be done right the first time. But mostly the girl on the computer was useless. It may well have been her first day. Train your people on customer service please.
Also, don't buy cedar shakes here. They are not even building grade.
First time we came couldnt find anyone to help us. One guy told us well we like to leave early on Sundays. We came 2hrs before closing. Next day we finally buy a sliding door and the help we find complain when we asked for help and laughed and joked between each other about why they couldnt help us load a sliding glass door. They did a poor job helping banging around a glass door then joked how they wernt going to answer customer calls while letting the work phone ring.
I wish there was more help. Lowes used to be where you go for a great selection, good price, and plenty of help from the staff. They seem to have cut back on staff, so it is no longer better than the other big box stores.
These five stars go to the team that installed our carpet last week. Januario and his partner did an exceptional job. First of all, they were just plain nice, next the installation was fantastic. Absolutely no seams visible. The steps? incredible! If you have a chance to request them, do!
