There was a woman in the reptile department who really knew what she was talking about. As a reptile owner I appreciate that. But my friend wanted a frog (I dont remember the species, they were white), and almost all of them were dead in the tanks :/
All-in-all, I do like this store and they have groomers on-site if that is ever needed. I will be going back
I like petsmart a lot. I've taken classes with their trainer, and she is wonderful. I've used their daycare services and grooming services and they are all very professional and friendly. The store is always neat and it's easy to find items I'm looking for. They regularly host rescue groups who are helping homeless animals find families, and I love that. Sometimes the lines are a bit long at the queues, but that's to be expected, especially on a weekend.
Anything that is normally needed for nearly any pet. Grooming services, pet day camp, and pet adoption services available. Pet ID tag machine on site to get your furry companion a personalized tag. Carpet shampooer available for rent. The place hosts an animal adoption fare most Saturday mornings through a local no kill shelter. Specials are typically for members only so plan to enroll in their free pet Perks card.
The store is pretty clean and the staff is friendly. There isn't a huge selection for large dogs in regards to harnesses or outdoor wear, but I admit Amazon probably spoiled me. The aisles can get a bit narrow when they are filled with dogs, but that is the best problem to have. I still enjoy browsing.
I have a hard time giving a 4 star rating when a person can walk in and shop in a store for more than 15-20 mins and never be approached by an associate and asked if assistance is needed. It just seems like good customer relations; it's not pushy and it's not annoying unless the associate persists. To me it is a simple and very effective way of saying, "I am acknowledging you and notice you are POTENTIALLY in need of assistance. If not, I'll respect your shopping experience and let you know where to find me." However, given that they may have been busier than usual, and all of the other great aspects to the store, I am giving it to them.
Each time I have gone into the store is great! So many options and brands...very thorough in coverage of almost all areas with product(s) for most pet varieties not necessitating a specialty store. There are always a good amount of sales going on in each department, AND they have a rewards/points program. Even after not shopping here for about a year due to relocation, they still had my account and points available! That is great!
